Jen's Splatter Manicure
-
Gather your supplies, you will need: Nail Polish (for this tutorial I used Jesse's Girl High Intensity Nail Color in Spring Break, Wham Bam, and Beach Baby, but feel free to mix it up with any colors you want!), Straw(s), Tape, Nail Polish Remover or Acetone, Clean Up Brush (I use an angled eyeliner brush).
-
Apply your favorite base coat and paint on your base color, I used Jesse's Girl High Intensity Nail Color in Spring Break as my base color.
-
Tape around your nails. This is an optional step but it really helps cleaning up because this can get messy!
-
Dip your straw into the polish, you can either dip it directly into the bottle or put some polish on a paper plate and dip the straw into that. Using short hard puffs of air blow the polish onto your nails. Use a different straw for each color, I usually cut my straw in half so I don't waste a lot of them! For the splatter on this manicure I used Wham Bam and Beach Baby
-
Take off the tape and use your clean up brush dipped in acetone or nail polish remover to clean up any excess polish on your skin or around your cuticle. It should look like this picture when you're done!
-
Apply your favorite top coat for a shiny finish and you're done!
